Spiritual guidance/accompaniment —I am formally trained as a chaplain which, in short, is about spiritual accompaniment.  Chaplaincy is about listening, reflecting, and being with. It is about compassion, and not pity.  Rarely, if ever, is it about doing more.

One of the greatest gifts that we have to give (if not the greatest, but I’m not trying to start fights) is attention.  Through my years of spiritual practice, interpersonal workshops, and many client-hours of training, I come with the experience of accompanying a diverse range of human beings— correctional officers and incarcerated men; homeless and at-risk youth patients, families and staff within the hospital; and of course friends and loved ones.

Ritual and Sound— In graduate school, much of my exploration was through ritual and sound. My thesis explored spontaneous sound as well as mantra as tools for transformation.

love to create moments of intention through these media.  I believe strongly in the power of ritual and sound, not as metaphor, but as embodied acts of creation and transformation.  Ritual becomes a container for grief, joy, and of course the unexpected and unimagined. I love to continually experiment, and am influenced by Buddhist traditions, work with plant medicine, and teachers such as Joanna Macy, Ronald Grimes, and Claudio Carvalhaes.

Meditation and Prayer— With many years of formal meditation training and spiritual practice, I love guiding meditation and prayer of various kinds.  There is an alchemy of co-creating a meaningful, spiritually-oriented space, in collaboration with the people in my care.  This can look like formal or improvised prayer, visualizations, and meditations of various kinds.  I am not a teacher within a lineage, and if that is what you are looking for, I would be glad to share my experience and connections.
